o bioma sofre com d\u00e9cadas de deteriora\u00e7\u00e3o das suas condi\u00e7\u00f5es ecol\u00f3gicas e com a vulnerabilidade diante das mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas. Nossas pesquisas sobre regenera\u00e7\u00e3o natural de florestas (florestas secund\u00e1rias) forneceu informa\u00e7\u00f5es importantes sobre a recupera\u00e7\u00e3o de ecossistemas na Amaz\u00f4nia, incluindo:<\/p><ul><li aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0378112722000470\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Varia\u00e7\u00e3o regional<\/a> nas taxas de recupera\u00e7\u00e3o de florestas<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/esajournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/full\/10.1002\/ecy.2954\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sensibilidade<\/a> da regenera\u00e7\u00e3o aos extremos clim\u00e1ticos<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">A relev\u00e2ncia de fatores locais e da paisagem para <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1111\/gcb.14443\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a biota de florestas secund\u00e1rias<\/a><\/li><\/ul><p>Essas descobertas foram usadas na defini\u00e7\u00e3o de <a href=\"https:\/\/ras-network.org\/impacto\/\">pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas no Par\u00e1<\/a>. Nossas evid\u00eancias cient\u00edficas foram usadas para definir est\u00e1gios sucessionais e crit\u00e9rios de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de florestas secund\u00e1rias e para estabelecer metas de restaura\u00e7\u00e3o em cumprimento aos compromissos clim\u00e1ticos do Estado.<\/p><p>Atualmente, ampliamos nossos projetos em restaura\u00e7\u00e3o de florestas:<\/p><p>Concebemos o CAPOEIRA, um centro interdisciplinar de pesquisa e aprendizagem coletiva. Reunindo diversas redes de pesquisa, institui\u00e7\u00f5es, empresas privadas, movimentos sociais e coletivos locais, o CAPOEIRA agrega e apoia o conhecimento e a co-constru\u00e7\u00e3o de estrat\u00e9gias de restaura\u00e7\u00e3o com maiores benef\u00edcios sociais, econ\u00f4micos e ambientais.<\/p><p>Lideramos ainda um projeto financiado pelo DEFRA visando a criar condi\u00e7\u00f5es para ampliar a escala da restaura\u00e7\u00e3o florestal resiliente ao clima na Amaz\u00f4nia Oriental, uma parceria entre a Universidade de Lancaster, EMBRAPA, SEMAS, IPAM, UFRA e USP. Esse trabalho busca compreender e desenvolver novas percep\u00e7\u00f5es sobre a import\u00e2ncia das florestas secund\u00e1rias para a regula\u00e7\u00e3o do clima local, suas intera\u00e7\u00f5es com a fauna florestal e a relev\u00e2ncia para as popula\u00e7\u00f5es locais.
